UNH Research Experience for Teachers in Engineering

AUDIENCE:

Any STEM teacher who is a US Citizen or Permanent Resident is eligible. Sponsored by the National Science Foundation.  Teachers admitted on a rolling basis.

PROGRAM:

Authentic research experience for STEM teachers training with UNH faculty and graduate students plus workshop on integrating research into the classroom with respect to NGSS

Research topics are in engineering fields, which touch into many interdisciplinary connections … mechanical, civil, ocean, electrical, and chemical.

 

WHEN:

June 26 – August 4

 

WHERE:

UNH (Durham, NH)

FINANCIAL SUPPORT:

Stipend:  $750/week (or  $5,250 over the 7-week program)

Travel Support:  The cheaper of either UNH dormitory with meals (single room w/ AC) or reimburse your mileage to commute
Spending Allowance:  $1000 for classroom supplies (supplies must be related to transfer of your research experience into the classroom teaching; ordinary classroom supplies not included).
