About the Workshop…

The Maine Education Association and the Maine Principals’ Association are excited to be offering an all-day differentiated workshop on the Student Learning Objective (SLO) Framework.
Led by MPA Assistant Executive Director, Holly Couturier, and MEA Professional Development Director, Dan Allen, the workshop is the result of a collaborative effort between both associations.
Building-level teams of MEA and MPA members are strongly encouraged to attend, although individuals will be accepted. If possible, teams should consist of at least one administrator and three teachers.
Each of the sessions will be co-facilitated by teams of MEA and MPA members and will include:
o The Nuts and Bolts of SLOs,
o Data Review and Student Needs Assessment,
o Instructional Strategies and Formative Assessment, and
o Peer Review of SLOs and Collaborative Leadership.
The cost for teams of four (must include at least one administrator and teachers) is $100. The cost for teams of fewer than four, or for people attending as individuals, is $35 per person. Attendees must be members of either the MEA or the MPA. The registration fee includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
The conference attendance will be capped at 100 people.

Registration will close August 1; however, please use this time before the end of the school year to discuss this with your fellow educators, put a team together, and register early. Once you register, you will receive an agenda with more detailed information.
