What did my class do today?”This morning, my class collaborated on a project to bring portable renewable energy to scientists in Antarctica. Last week, we used chemistry to develop the longest lasting lipstick. Tomorrow, we are going to work to reduce concussions in the NFL.” –Spark 101 User

Spark 101 is a free, on-demand teaching resource offering a library of ten-minute case study videos to engage students in solving real-world challenges from STEM employers in business, government agencies, non-profits, and academic institutions, and the curricular materials to support instruction.

In this session, Jane will discuss:

  • The lack of student motivation in STEM coursework and Spark 101’s research-based solutions
  • The STEM Inspiration Challenge: Bringing STEM to life in inquiry-based learning without the resources
  • Pipeline vs. Pathway: The STEM education goals of educators and employers and how to find common ground to best support students
  • And did we mention – it’s all FREE!
