Free Apple Professional Development

Please join us for these 2 free seminars presented by Apple, and held in multiple locations across Maine.

1) Enhancing Teaching and Learning in STEM: STEM education forms critical parts of every Maine school’s overall curriculum. With the arrival of the new Apple MLTI devices in schools across the state this fall, many STEM educators are finding they need to rethink their teaching in order to fully leverage the great new possibilities available for students through access to their iPad or MacBook Air. At this hands-on event, you’ll see how educators can use Mac and iPad to create and deliver engaging STEM content. And you’ll learn how digital content can personalize learning and help students of all learning styles grasp challenging concepts.
2) Standards, Assessments and Mobile Devices: School communities today are deeply involved with indicators, standards, & assessments. Students are being asked to demonstrate proficiencies in new ways. Teachers are finding new ways to leverage technology to support them in the new way of teaching that will effectively support their students’ in learning, and in developing proficiencies in new ways of demonstrating their capabilities. In this session you’ll learn how MacBook Air, iPad, and a wide range of instructional content such as apps, books, podcasts, and learning resources can support national and state standards. We’ll also explore engaging digital tools that empower students as content creators and mobile technologies that extend learning beyond the classroom. In addition, we’ll discuss how Apple can help you prepare for new comprehensive assessment systems, such as SBAC, and the Next Generation Assessments.
